The Ivany Family Scholarship Fund
Dr. Robert and Mrs. Marianne Ivany have lived faith-filled lives of service, including a 34-year career in the U.S. Army. They instilled this tradition of service in their four children, Christopher, an Army psychiatrist; Mark, a Catholic priest; Julianne, a former cultural advisor to the Army; and Brian, a West Point graduate and Army combat veteran.
As President and First Lady of the University of St. Thomas, their unfailing commitment to educating leaders of faith and character has left an indelible mark on the university. In celebration of their legacy, the chairs of the 2017 Mardi Gras Scholarship Gala have established the Ivany Family Scholarship Fund, honoring Dr. and Mrs. Ivany, and their family, for their extraordinary service to UST, to the United States Army and to our country.
For decades, the Mardi Gras Scholarship Gala has benefitted The St. Thomas Fund, UST’s premier scholarship and annual fund program. Contributions in support of the Ivany Family Scholarship Fund will further bolster this vital program, which provides much-needed tuition assistance to deserving students.
The Ivany Family Scholarship Fund will benefit students across all departments, including the Performing and Fine Arts, an area for which Mrs. Ivany has great affinity and has worked tirelessly to advance. Ivany scholarships will also be available to military veterans, a student population that Dr. Ivany has increased and diligently supported during his tenure at UST. Recipients will be known as the Ivany Scholars and will have the distinction of receiving one of the university’s most prestigious named scholarships.
